We set up a TA 300ci on a network with exisiting Kyocera MFDs. The customer was comfortable with the SFU and wanted to continue using it. So we uninstalled and reinstalled the SFU to update it to work with the FTP functions on the TA 300ci. However, when we scan with the TA300ci it only gives the administrator rights to view the file. It can be opened at the server by the administrator but not over the network by the user. If we scan from an older device to the same destination the file can be opened and the permisions are set as expected.
We have tried this on our server locally and the file gets the proper permissions so I believe the problem is with the installation at the customer's location. Server 2003 Standard Aany Ideas? Thanks, Aaron |

Sounds like a root permissions issue on the folder. If it works in your environment I'd expect it's an inheritance issue.
For testing I'd recommend creating a new folder and share and point everything at it (If permissions have been futzed with it can be difficult to get things to behave the way you want). The default permissions will have inheritance enabled, so you'd just need to set permissions for 'Everyone' with 'Full Control' to test. Relax? When?! |

creator owner permissions, and user permissions get in the way here. If the root folder doesn't have the proper creator owner, and user permissions you get an access denied at the workstation.
