TASKalfa 305 - Support SSL?

Does this machine support SSL? We have a customer who is migrating to gmail. They currently have a KM-C2520, which doesn't support SSL. So we have a sales rep who is proposing an additional TASKalfa 305 as a possible solution. But I am under the impression that only the new TASKalfa 3500i/3050ci series of equipment is the only option.

Called Kyocera Tech Support for verification and the two people I talked to said "We think it does" because under Secure Protocols it's listed. I said it's also listed under the TASKalfa 250ci series, but I know that one doesn't support SSL. All I got was, well it's there it should work.

So looking to the board community to see if you guys can confirm that the 305 does or doesn't support SSL.

Appreciate the help.

I have a CS-255 to set up tomorrow. I'll give it a test on that. My dealer email uses SSL as the preferred connection, although it also allows a port 25 connection.

I did successfully test to port 465 SSL using a CS-3050ci this week.

Bad news. The CS-255 has the "old" Kyocera Command Center, and no options for SSL on the SMTP page.

The "Command Center RX" does have some check boxes for SSL on the SMTP setup page. If they dig deeper in the pockets for a 3500i this will work no problem.

Ok thank you very much. What I more or less thought, but when Kyocera Tech Support basically told me, well it's there in Secure Protocol it must mean it can, it threw a little doubt in my mind.

Thank you again for the confirmation. Yep, we will move on to Plan B.
