Has anyone been able to get any copier with a scan system installed to be able to scan to email if the customer is using GoDaddy as there email provider. I found a site that shows how to set up Outlook with GoDaddy. The server name is smtpout.secureserver.net (IP=72.167.82.80) and a port setting of either 80 or 3535. There is a note however that says that this server is an SMTP relay server and in order to use this server to send e-mails, you must first activate SMTP relay on your e-mail account. Well the customer's IT provider supposedly created and user/email account for this copier, so you would think that they would have known to do this hopefully. No matter what I do, I get an SMTP Authentication error when I attempt to scan. Any ideas to try would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty certain 3535 is for SSL - so that definitely won't work.
I'm surprised they've started using port 80 - I started using port 80 to circumvent AT&T (and other providers) blocking efforts.

I have used secureserver.net. I think there's a setting in their cpanel (or whatever they call it) - a web page that configures the domain account. If I recall, by default it sets up for web mail, not smtp - there's a checkbox somewhere to allow that.

Relax? When?!

Well, after spending some time on the phone with this customers IT guru about setting them up to scan using the GoDaddy server, he strongly recommended against it. He indicated that the GoDaddy servers may change from time to time and that then the settings on the copier would possibly no longer work if a different server is brought online to handle this customer.

Yea Eric, I have put the authentication info as the persons info that set-up the acct. not the sign in info to sign on to go daddy.com "to create users acct. ect." which is the usual information that would work. I also used port 80,try it with the creators info. User name password

Eric, who do they get basic internet from? Can't you just use the local ISP to relay? Roadrunner SMTP was still wide open last I checked. Big Grin
