Collate issue

We are experiencing a problem with collate on the 5016 drivers. Seems that no matter which setting we use, the printer will not collate the print job. The only thing that seemed to work was to turn off RAM disk, then it would collate the print job - has anyone else experienced any issues regarding this feature?

Thanks

We've seen similar problems with the 5016 and with the 9500. For example, if you have Hard Disk as an installed option in the driver but do not physically have a hard disk installed, you will not be able to print out multiple copies of a job. I think if you these options enabled in the driver but not on the machine itself, its trying to write to a location that doesn't exist. It won't throw an error, but it won't output how you tell it to.

You're problem is you had RAM disk checked in the driver but don't have it turned on at the printer itself. By checking off the RAM disk in the driver the job is being sent multiple times to get a collated output. This won't work at all from some applications, such as Adobe Acrobat reader.

TarryDan- We have the same problem and there was post by egehead on March 30 you might want to check out. Our situation has 512MB RAM and no Hard Drive. Installing a hard drive would solve the issue, but customer does not want to spend extra $$$. We have tried FRPO settings, driver settings, firmware,etc.- no luck. Our regional tech rep has a file and was to be working on a solution, but nothing yet.
Waiting for other ideas and good luck to you.

I had the same issue the last week on an fs9520. The customer tried everything, nothing worked. From a laptop, worked fine. So i had the customer create a new printer driver. And away we go. Works fine....the customer must have changed some setting with spooler, hope this helps...
