paperport 11 is not finding the cs1820 twain scanner, the computer has Vista business and i can see the "WIA scanner" on the control panel, but still paper port does not find the scanner!
Does the 1820 show up in the control panel under the kyocera twain heading? Because you won't find it under the scanners and cameras heading. And are you trying to use the network port or the usb port for scanning?
The 1820 will scan with the usb port. As far as I know it is the only one that will. Page 2-14 advanced operators guide.
Using TWAIN 1 Connect your PC to the machine using a USB cable. 2 Place the original on the platen. 3 Use the TWAIN-compatible application to scan from your PC. 4 Choose the appropriate settings and click Scan. The scanned data will be sent to
im using the USB, the kyocera twain driver utility is installed and configured... could be a firewall?
Try using a different scanning program. I downloaded and use GIMP, a free graphics manipulation program. I use it when there are weird problems with some of the other software.

Also go into the "kyocera twain" heading in the control panle. NOT the WIA scanner. It will not scan from the 1820 without adding the 1820 to that particular heading in the control panel. It does this with XP, Win2k, Vista, and win2003. You do have to click on the "add" button or it won't be completely setup.
installed both printer and scanner latest version per tech support instructions, and still i'm not able to twain scan. "The scanner is not registered. Start kyocera twain at windows control panel and add the scanner" is the message i get when using Word to scan. on paperport the scanner is not listed.
It sounds like either the installation of the TWAIN source was unsuccessful or you still need to reboot to finish the installation. Try rebooting if you haven't already or completely remove it, reboot and reinstall. good luck...
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

Mad, did not see this mentioned yet so yo may want to make sure you are installing software using the REAL administrator login with admin privledges. We have had some problems trying to install software on Vista using a user login, it seemed to let us load the software with not errors, but the software would not run correctly. We had to uninstall, reboot, and log back in using the Administrator log-in, then reload the software. Just to prove to the client it is thier computer, I would bring a laptop & connect to the 1820 using usb and show them it scans. One other thing comes to mind, is if using usb, I recommend that it connects directly from the 1820 to the computer usb port(preferably on the main cpu board), no usb hubs, or extension cables allowed.
