Have any of you had a problem with any 2000's / IB-30 not printing PDF's correctly ? ( SLOW PRINTING through network only ). On the display you will see the Data LED's, then see PROCESSING - WAITING alternately .....then print one or two sheets .... PROCESSING - WAITING ...then another sheet or two . etc.

We have tried the PRESCRIBE commands to initialize the NIC, Engine board, etc. ; this worked on a couple of printers; others, we had to replace the IB-30 & pigtail; still others , only the pigtail to correct the "SLOW" printing.

We have checked and tried old firmware as well as the latest . We also have tried older drivers all the way to the latest KX , and still see this problem on some printers (YEP, Different PDF's, so that was not the problem )

If you have seen this and have a solution, or just a suggestion ....... please post a reply .

Thanks

We have tried every emulation available , depending on the driver used.

We may have found a possible cause; we got in a printer in with the SLOW print, and we changed JUST the relay cable....the printer started working correctly. We were pleasantly surprised by this. We tried that particular relay cable on another 2000, and the problem followed that cable. We are beginning to wonder if these cables were a problem that has been corrected. So far the cables in question do NOT have the ISOLATED wire. I'm certain you had noticed that the later series of IB-30's had a different cable set; all the IB-31's for the 2020's have an isolated wire. ( It makes you wonder if there was a RF or STATIC problem corrected by the isolated wire. )

We will still be conducting tests ( yes, guesses too !) and will keep you up to date on what we find .

We did finally determine the cause of the slow print on PDF's.
You probably noticed that some of the later model IB-30's had an isolated pair on the relay cable that was 'shielded' by shrinkwrap.
We duplicated this on some of the IB-30's that was having the slowest data transfer. This corrected all the problems we were having.
KMA apparently did have some issues with data transfer, and the problem was corrected at the factory. We never received any info about this, and KMA helpdesk either did not have this info or just did not share the reason for THEIR modification.
OH WELL ! At least we now know how to correct these problems in the future.
