customer with 6030 running a big mail merge. If there is a interruption in the print job IE. a jam she says the job will randomly start back at the beginning. I went out and made the job jam several times and it never started over. Later that day I asked another customer that runs mail merges if he had seen anything like this and he said he had. Does anyone know what the deal is with this problem??? Please Help.Oh yeah Firmware and driver are latest versions.
Take a look at the driver. Check the spool settings, See if the print job is being spooled or otherwise. Seems to me that somewhere in the dim past of win95 we had a similar problem with an HP4 restarting mail merge print jobs. Changing the setting from spool to raw print seemed to eliminate the restarts. Or vice-versa. It was with an earlier version of word-perfect if my brain is remembering correctly.
I always recommend to customers doing large mail merge operations first render the job to a PDF file and then print the PDF. If they don't have software to create PDF's CutePDF is a free PDF creation tool.
