I hooked all the XP stations no problem "scan to SMB" when trying to send to Vista nothing but 1103. 1103 code first points at Domain Name but the PC's are in a work group, next is user name and password tried several different ones, next I think is permissions and I tried giving the shared folder as much as I could I Think? What am I missing? Help Please

can you ping that pc's IP from another workstation? maybe a security issue for vista, or aftermarket software.

I have only tried this to Vista Premium Home, so I know the security will be different on Vista Premium Business (like XP Pro is different than Home).

The issue is likely that you do not have read/write permissions granted to the folder for the user account that is used for scanning. Also make sure that the firewall has an exception created for File and Print Sharing.

This may sound odd, but we have run into this issue twice and both times we were able to successfully scan to a sub folder but not the main folder. Kyocera\Scans worked, but scanning to Kyocera failed with an 1103 error.

Both instances happened on a Vista workstation.
Go Figure.

Try this

since it is in a workgroup, for the Domain put the host name of the computer.

Make sure network discovery is on for the network connection, the user name and password are correct, and the user has full control over the share.

Again thank you for the help, here is what it took. Upgrading the firmware from 206 to 220 creating a user name: scanner and a password: scanner even though no other user was using a password. Then changing the port from 139 to 445 hotline said we will be doing this more often when it comes to Vista and 2008 Server
