Have customer that had Print System G installed but only recently decided to use. When I enter the IP address from the op panel, the green data light never flashes and switches to online like says in Bulletin 2 for this machine. After power machine off and on returns to old address.

Tried hardware reset with OP jumpers on board, IP reset to 100.0.120.140, but still unable to change.

Replaced printer board, main board, engine board and memory board, still no help.

Tested printer board on machine in the shop and set IP fine and able to print to it. Took board back to customer machine, now I can ping and browse to it's web page, but not connect with server software and still unable to change any settings.

Going back with scanner and operation boards- any other ideas appreciated. Know these machines are "old" but once configured they seem to work .

Forgot to included in original post, firmware/ software versions are correct. Using Windows 2000 and same CD to install at both customer(new fresh build) and shop. Think it has to be related to communication problem between print system and copier.

WackoThe print system software was NT4 print sever. Which was part of NT4 server. You can try to set up a print server using W2K server and it might work.

Good Luck!

Well got things working using Windows 2000 Professional. Have used it in the past so don't think will have a problem.

Turned out to be the scanner board. Think replaced all of the boards except the power supply to troubleshoot the problem.

Not sure what the scanner board has to do with printing, but is using same communication lines to main board & maybe tied up a port.

Now hope customer increases volume enough to justify the work.
