I have a customer that recieves all faxes through there 2050 to there PC using the network fax function and scanner file utilty then prints them later as needed. The 2050 will feed a blank sheet from tray 1 when the fax is recieving a document to be processed in this manner causing a jam. The blank sheet is on the drum and fuser and my copy count is incorrect. ie: If making 20 copies, the display says 18 but I have 19 copies in the tray with 2 sheets being jammed. If you turn off the network fax function, no jams. Tray 2 won't jam. I've updated all firmware. Am going back to reinstall the scanner file utility. This machine has been functioning properly for 2 years. Any ideas would be helpful

The description of the problem is confusing. I don't understand if you mean that the copier is printing the fax at the time of reception (which is shouldn't) or if you are saying the jams happen when the customer prints the faxes received to their PC (which is really a print problem, not a fax issue). I suspect this is just a paper-size mismatch problem when printing (copier thinks a different size paper is being fed than what really is), but I don't have a good grasp on what's going on by the description. Would trying PDF direct print utility be an option for printing the received faxes from the PC? ================================================== Chris L's Hiking/Geocaching blog (new and improved!) yoyoartist.blogspot.com

It is confusing. The machine is set to network fax without printing. If you are in the middle of a copy job and a fax comes in ( you can watch the lights on the display communicating and document in memmory)the machine will feed a blank causing a jam even though the fax is supposed to go to the PC not the copier. If you turn off network fax and you are in the middle of a copy job and a fax comes in the copy job finishes then the fax prints. And it only happens with tray 1.

Wow, that's cool... Chris is probably right ( he usually is), but I can't stop thinking about the fact that this only happens when you are using the receive to network pc/do not print function. To me there is something wrong there, fax board? Scanner card? All firmware is updated.. can you swap out the boards?. I'd like to know what the final fix for this one is. Good Luck. I think I have a handle on this now. If I read correctly, if there is a copy or print job in progress as a fax comes in, a blank sheet/jam occurs with the print/copy job in progress. Sounds like the machine is having a problem with multi-tasking. You already flashed firmware (I hope both fax firmware and copier firmware). Sounds like the fax system may need to be swapped to test, then perhaps swap the main logic of the copier. Something easy to try first could be to check if "Bulk Receive" is turned on in the Fax Defaults settings. That receives the fax while multi-tasking, but won't process it until the other functions are done. It is turned off by default from the factory. ================================================== Chris L's Hiking/Geocaching blog (new and improved!) yoyoartist.blogspot.com
