We are starting to run into problems when using a exchange server for the mail server. It says unable to connect or something like that. I think it might be a security thing with there server but does anyone know what changes need to be changed. Because if I use Argosoft as a relay on a workstation it goes through. but if I send it directly to the mail server its like it rejects anything comming form a copier. PLEASE HELP Im starting to run into a lot more exchange servers.
Thanks

There are more things than can be listed easily that can make Exchange reject a connection from a scanner.

The most common are when the defaults are changed on Exchange to reject all connections on Port 25 (you can change this on the scanner to match) and when relaying on Exchange is only enabled for defined network addresses or a range of addresses. That requires some configuration on Exchange.

Also, the email settings on the scanner must have an email address of some sort (preferably a valid one) as a return address, and something must be entered for the subject line, and some creativity sometimes is needed to not become filtered out as spam.

Good luck. I seem to mostly meet the net admins that get cranky about making any changes to their email server to just accommodate scanning.

If the Exchange server is rejecting connections on port 25, then in the Command Center (web interface) you look for the SMTP port setting (default is 25) and change it to one that the net admin says they set Exchange to work on.

What firmware version is the NS-30 card running.

I had this problem and fixed it by downgrading the firmware. See Post "KM-C2525E Unable to scan to email..." below

Believe this or not I spent 4 hrs. trying to make the connection then my Rep and his phone support tried for 3 hrs. doing the same, but we were entering the info. then we let the machine DHCP went back in changed IP and what little missing info was not there and it worked true story
