Having a weird result with scaner on a new CS-4050. What happens is there is a light blue shaded stripe down the left-center of the page on scanned documents only. Lowering the resolution worked for now. But where do I start looking for the solution for this weird problem. This is only the second one of these machines we have installed. And only the first to be set up for scanning. The problem showed up three days after setup. The machine was scanning without problems until today. The service manual of course has no indication of where to look or start.
Oaky will try that. In addition to the doc feed scans the blue line is also on the scanned documents when left on the glass. Not just when run through the doc feeder.
Just a quick heads up. The problems with the color bands on scanned via smb or e-mail showed up only on doc feed scans.
After updating the firmware the problem persisted. Then we checked the black mylar that is shipped with every machine. The mylar was not completely straight. There was a slight curve to the mylar. That was allowing a reflection/refraction effect. There were occasional light bands in the feed direction on copies also. Usually consistant with the area in the center of the scanned dorcuments going through the doc feed.
Thanks for the suggestion. Taking a print out of Gazoo's reply pointed me in the right direction.
