Hi All
I am trying to understand why when you go to the machine and choose scanner, scan to pc,save
at pc that the destination list isn't there
but if I choose the address book I can select from there.
I even went direct to the scanner through my
laptop, entered the info through the ip address
of my webbrowser and can create name and ip address of laptop and can scan but only selection can be made from address boook.
I am not aware of any settings to change to
rectify this but I am at a loss as to resolve.

Anyone else have a similar problem and resolution?
I have the luxary of visiting another customer
in the morning to compare settings but it is quite a simple setup or so I thought...
Thanks as always
ED

I hope I read everything correctly because I see the answer in your post Ed.

When you select the "Save at User PC" button, it will just save to the selected user's PC. When you bypass that button and instead go to the address book, then of course you will see all the destinations you can save to.

Do you also have the "Select Sender" option checked off? Then the "Save at User PC" option will only go to the first name on the Sender list, with no way to change.

I agree with using the address book you will see a list of users to scan to.
What I am used to seeing is scan to pc,then a list of destinations of which you can choose one.
In this case there isn't even one name shown,I have to go to the address book tab.
Whenever I have installed in the past I always had a list shown as soon as I request a scan to pc. I am at a real loss here as I am not aware of any settings that have to be changed to correct this but you never know...
Thanks
Ed

You might have a basic misunderstanding of how this is supposed to work.

The way you are used to, you actually are selecting a sender name (not the end destination) and then you are supposed to select the destination(s) from the Address Book. The "Save at User PC" is just a quick shortcut to scan to yourself.

What happened on your machine is that in the Scanner defaults, the "Skip User Selection" is turned on, so the machine will just use the first Sender in the Sender List as the default User, and you must use the Address Book to select the destination. Turn it back on and you will see it operate the way you are used to.

So many of my customers get confused why they must select a sender and a destination (especially on a 1650-2050-2550) that I just turn off sender selection right away, which allows them to skip a step when going through all the tedious scan menus. It really is more applicable for Scan to Email anyhow.

I think I understand this. What you are probably used to seeing is a list of Outbound users to select from. There is a setting to 'skip sender' through the web interface. I use this when only a few people are going to scan and they want it a simple as possible. This feature was unavailable on the KM2530 series (although it may be in a firmware update).

Relax? When?!

Problem resolved.
Thanks Chris and Scoful.
The only part of the whole issue is the fact that indeed someone went through the webbrowser and turned the skip sender on.
Made the change and problem solved. I have learned something yet again.
Most of all a good team effort on this BBS.
Thanks to all///
