Hey All,

Has anybody used ever used the network fax driver in a Citrix enviroment or know if the drivers are compatible? I called the hotline and they said they didn't know if anyone has ever tried it. I have a fairly large customer that presented this question to me and they don't want to be the guinea pig.

Thanks in advance for help or suggestions you can give me.

Bob

Never heard of it being tried in a Citrix setup, but I know from my experimentation that you cannot share the driver to another PC and make it work. It has to be installed locally on the machine that is doing the actual printing in order to work.

I've been mulling this one over in my head for a while and am trying to think of a reason why you can't load the fax driver on the mainframe just like the print driver would be. It would not really be a share type situation. This is pure speculation. I've only dealt with a citrix environment once (fortunately).

The answer is NO. Dont even try this. The fax driver is "windows client based" only, not server based. The driver needs also loads a port monitor which has issues on citrix. I had a customer that did this and he was so "pissed" because it crashed his network. Same deal with loading on a server and sharing it. It wont work because of the port monitor. Hope this helps. Cool1
P.S.We also run 5 citrix servers and we wont run it on them internally.

furnfuz is correct. We tried it and had help from the customers IT company that only supports Citrix. They spent considerable time trying to tweak it with no success
