Has anyone had a Network Fax Driver (ver3.5.1014) break when installed on a Win 7, 64 bit OS? I am able to fax sucessfully via Crossover Cable with my XP Pro laptop, and as well when on the office Network with my laptop. The Win 7 PC was able to NetFax for @ 5 months & then stopped. The Popup window says:
C:\Windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3\KFNMCPEDIT.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the origional media or contact your System Administrator or the software vender (ME) for support. I uninstalled the driver & reinstalled another directly from KMAConnect. N/C I turned off the 3 sections of the Windows Firewall, one section at a time,& then tested with it off entirely.N/C The only other Security is AVG & I tested with it & Windows Firewall both off. N/C I'm convinced there is a setting I'm missing on the Win 7 OS. Any ideas? Be careful about reading health books. You may die of a misprint. - Mark Twain |

You might want to check for additional versions of the DLL in other locations. If the DLL is registered with regsvr32 it may be calling the wrong one causing a mismatch (we've all seen problems with that with KX drivers so it wouldn't be too surprising).
I'd remove it completely, unregister the DLL (regsvr32 /u KFNMCPEDIT.DLL I think) and then reinstall it. You may need to check the properties of the DLL to make sure it's not blocked by Windows (I've never seen this with a DLL but I would think the same mechanism that protects your system from an unrecognized or downloaded EXE or ZIP file would do the same for DLL's since they are basically EXE files too.) Relax? When?! |
