I have several KM-8030&6030 that when printing
From outlook or any program that has a gray scale the gray it comes out very light.
All firmware is up to date on machine and print
System. Has any one come across this before?

Couple of quick qns,
whats the test prints from the engine like? Sim 89?
The printer isnt in Eco mode is it?

the print system test print and the test print form sim 89 look light. no. Eco mod is off.

I dont know if this is the same problem, but my 6030 prints were very light and my copies were just a tad light [the cust only complained about the quality on the print jobs] I upgraded firmware and vacumed the dev section and ran sim 130 again. The problem never came back. Hope this helps.

I have had times in the past where the drum of a machine was damaged following a shorted main charge grid, and making very light copies/prints.

As a way to compensate, you can adjust the developer bias in sim 100 and make the prints darker (higher value for darker prints). Could be worth a try.

try increasing haftone density in user mode newer firmware gives this option

I will try some your suggestions and will up date as soon as I have some results.
