I read in previous post that office 2010 will override driver settings. I had a customer the other day that I set up custom boxes so the print jobs wouldn't get mixed up. After setting it up and testing it seem to work ok until customer tried printing from word 2010. I had set up each computer driver to a specific box for that user with no password so they would not get asked to enter the box number and password for each print job. It was working fine until a word 2010 job was sent. A box pop up prompting for the custom box number and password. It would send the job fine to the correct box, but you had to at least put in the box number.

Catch me if you can! |
Microsoft Office has always overridden the print driver settings. For all brands, all versions of Office. If the document's page properties specify pulling paper from drawer 1, it will pull from drawer 1 no matter what you try to do with the print driver.
When an end user upgrades to new printers, it makes life easier if they remember to re-save all old documents with the new printer set as the default. ================================================== Chris L's Hiking/Geocaching blog (new and improved!) yoyoartist.blogspot.com |

Chris I understand what you are saying, but where would you tell office to print to a custom box. That seems to be available in the driver settings only.
