I had all computers in an office successfully scanning via FTP using SFU as the FTP server on a CS-420i. One of the computers crashed so I had to set it up again. I've set it up exactly the same way as the other computers but I get 3101 errors every time. Any ideas on what may be causing this error? The only thing that sets this machine apart in how it's connected is that it is wireless. But it still connects to the same network.
Router may be blocking FTP on wireless. Computer firewall may be blocking FTP port. There could be more than 3 switches physically between the copier and the wireless hub/router (not allowed per ethernet spec). Anti-virus could be blocking SFU.
That's just what I can think of in 2 minutes of typing. Possibilities could be endless.

I had a wireless router that didn't allow NBNS (windows naming service over local broadcast) only over wireless. If you've tried an IP address, this won't help.

I know this is a bit late but I had this on a laptop what solved it was going to properties of wireless connection-Advanced-Windows firewall settings-Advanced-open wireless network connection-make sure there is a check next to FTP server
