I moved this post to "Connection".
1820 has job accounting set to print. Driver is on the server. New workstation works fine with Job Accounting except printing from the internet. It will say Illegal ID. Very bizarre, tech support says it's a PC issue, any ideas? Thanks! |

By 'Printing from the Internet' do you mean Internet Explorer (or Firefox, Safari, Chrome etc) or do you mean that the printer port is port forwarded from the internet allowing printing from anywhere?
If it is a web browser, you might try changing the header/footer info. (That's the strangest part of what prints that I can think of). Also, you might try an alternative browser to see what the results are. If it's a port forwarding issue and it works properly when printed to the LAN address but incorrectly when printing to the WAN address it is likely a router/firewall issue. It may not be that the port is blocked, but that some packets don't make it through properly - effectively modifying the data as it passes through. Router firmware may correct this or it could require replacement (have seen both situations). We are talking about integrated job accounting on the MFP, right? This message has been edited. Thanks Scoful. Internet meant web browsing using Internet Explorer.
The Job Accounting is set for copying and to Prompt for ID when printing. This is a new PC, the other workstations are working normally. Driver is shared off the server. I will try a different browser, and let you know, thanks! |

Also meant to ask what emulation you're running and if you tried switching it?
Relax? When?! |

What Operating System is the new PC running, or what version of Web Browser? Sounds like a security issue on the workstation to me.

How sure are you that this only happens when printing from Internet Explorer?
We have two clients with this issue and it is related to the KX driver. Our clients have the KX version 4.4 shared on a 2003 server and the machine will come up intermittantly with illegal account. Kyocera have asked us to capture the print job using the KX spool centre and we have discovered that the print job is being sent without the ID code even though the driver is set to validate. This has been esculated to Japan so I will keep you posted as to what happens. but I need to know if you are only having this issue when printing from Internet Explorer> Thanks |

I called the client and asked them to try Firefox, never heard back from them. I am more curious about a solution then they are. I will follow up with the client and let you know. Thanks for all the help.
