Does anyone know of a nic reset for these printers?
I have one of each that will not link to our network or crossover cable to laptop.
DHCP off. ip address set, subnet set, gateway set, and still no link. Tried different cables.
The ST light does flash once by the nic port during startup.
any ideas

We had a C5016 in the office that someone had programmed a password into the network interface. To reset this if you don't know the password, you will have to reset the whole network card. To do this: Be sure the machine is turned off! Remove the hard drive (or Optional slot cover). You will see a "jumper". Remove the jumper from its position and place it across the "SW2" pins. Turn the machine on and let it come to "Ready". Turn the machine off and place the jumper back into its original position. Reposition the hard drive or optional cover. Now you must reprogram all network settings including FRPO values (if any have been altered).

It is recommended that you send these commands with IC Link or KM net vieweer Broadcast.

You can hook up a prallel cable and from the dos prompt on your laptop send the command

ECHO !R! SIOP0,"RESET:0";EXIT; >LPT1

(this code is only for printers or copiers that have the integrated NIC (Command Center) if it is using a IB-21e then use

ECHO !R! SIOP2,"RESET:0";EXIT; >LPT1

Hope this works!

This will reset the nic back to factory default with DHCP on and host name reset back to default. If there is a problem after doing this then you will need to replace the printer controller PCB.

Is it possible that someone jammed a USB connector into the network port and damaged the port? Look closely at the contacts in the network port.
