I am still trying to figure out how to scan to ftp on a 4050 using scan file utility 3.17. Put in the ip address of the pc trying to send it to and folder number in the utility (example 001). I have tried on xp and vista with no success. put in a user name bu no password. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

You'll need SFU version 4.1. 3.17 doesn't do FTP.

Yep, KM stated that 3.17 worked but surprise it doesn't. Load 4.1 but you HAVE to delete the old SFU first. Under FTP in Command Center, drop in the address not host name, doesn't like that. Path is single digits. If it's 001 on SFU, put "1" in the Command Center. Don't forget to allow an exception under Windows firewall if on and pray Norton isn't running or some other no-name anti-virus crap! No user name or password is necessary unless you add it on the SFU side. Z No HOPE, just BROKE. Anyone else - 2012

Like was previously stated, use SFU 4.1 and just use the IP and the folder number configured in the utility. I've only used it in our showroom to date with Vista though. Has anybody tried SFU 4.1 with a KM-2030 or 6230 yet? I may have to do an experiment someday when I have enough time to kill since I found out the hard way in a customer's office about 3.17 not working with those systems. I'm still using version 3.16 in all my installs. ================================================== Chris L's Hiking/Geocaching blog (new and improved!) yoyoartist.blogspot.com

Tried it with two 2030's. Neither one worked until I installed the older version. First one would not connect to the pc in scan to pc. The second try it would connect and scan. But when I looked for the scans there was nothing at all in the folder specified by SFU. It definitely scanned to somewhere

So, what do you do if all the PC's are on dynamic IPs. Is there a trick to making it resolve host names cause it's bound to happen, the IP addresses will change at some time.

Still have? A good 50% of the units we placed are still in use. We will still sell a recon'ed unit to any cheapskate that finally had their old analog POS die and won't consider a new machine unless they think they are buying at half-price. ================================================== Chris L's Hiking/Geocaching blog (new and improved!) yoyoartist.blogspot.com

Same trick we have to use to make those old KM-2030's scan over a DHCP envirionment. They flat out won't work with hostnames. Nearly any DHCP server has a place where you can permanently assign a particular IP to a specified MAC address. ================================================== Chris L's Hiking/Geocaching blog (new and improved!) yoyoartist.blogspot.com

I cant get this to work on Falcon III 3050. Followed the steps above: Clean install of SFU 4.10 on a PC, just one scan folder 001. Scan folder is shared, Firewall off. SFU started Set up Contact in Kyocera Command Centre. In FTP section just entered IP Address and path as "1". Communication Error code 1102 (= Error: User/Password) everytime I scan. Any suggestions Cheers Pat

The copier firmware must be updated past a certain level for starters. Make sure it's up to date. An old issue is making certain that the read/write permissions of the folder being scanned to is set to allow "Everyone" to read/write. That is in the folder properties. In the March 2010 USA Dealer Technical Webinar (I have the PDF) there is a discussion about this issue, and I learned a new trick from it. Under FTP, you must leave username and password blank. Then go to Sim 510, turn on Enterprise Mode (mode 2) to activate Scan to PC. Now you don't use the "Send" function but the "Application" button of the panel and you will find "Scan to PC" there. I really didn't know about that until I read that webinar pdf. ================================================== Chris L's Hiking/Geocaching blog (new and improved!) yoyoartist.blogspot.com

Thanks Chris- this worked for me. Its a bit clunky compared to using "Send/FAX" but it worked straightaway. Turning on Enterprise Mode 2 gave me "Scanner File Utility" under the "Application" button. It also gave me a SFU Address Book on the Basic tab in Command Centre. It doesn't integrate into the main address book and you cant set up One- Touch keys for users but I have a solution for Win7 scanning now. Cheers, Pat

HHmm the kyo rep told us to ALWAYS use Administrator for the user name and NO password, the rest is what you said. =========================== Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that. - G. Carlin
