Does anyone know how to set up the scanner to scan to a 5030 Color printer and have it print out what you have scanned Or any color printer for that matter.

Thanks

I have already heard of this being done using the new 4050. They scan directly to the 5030 printer and then the 5030 prints out in color what has been scanned in color from the 4050 flatbed scanner.

It can be done with a 1820 being the scanning device also. I don't remember offhand if Scan to FTP or an Email scan is done. I do remember that the file is scanned as a pdf and that is sent to the printer and it prints because it can print pdf files natively. Do a search on KMAConnect, I'm sure the directions exist on their somewhere since I have read them before.

Set the KM-4050 to scan to FTP to the IP address of the C5030 printer.

works with all devices that scan to ftp..single copy only..the question is, who knows how to request multiples. also quality from the 1820 scanner seems yucky, anyone changed something to make it better?

Thanks for the information, I ended up going to basic, contacts, turned on ftp and entered the IP address of the 5030 and went to the 5030 and turned on ftp there also, and everything worked.

I am trying to scan from a Km3050 and print to a FS5300dn
and keep getting 3101 codes even though it will print out fine. Tried same set up on a FS c5020N
and it worked fine. Any Ideas of what I am doing wrong

I would expect they haven't really done much with continued support for this feature - which is sad.
I expect your 3101 code has something to do with PDF compatability.

Does it behave the same way with both mono and color?

You might try scanning to a PDF and using direct PDF print and see if you get the same error (I would expect the same result).
If it does get the same result perhaps KMA would address the issue.

I had always hoped they would expand on this feature. It would have been really easy for them to add a feature where you would specify the printer in system setup (and options like duplex and paper sources) and you would be able to specify quantity, paper source and number of copies from the copier control panel. Would have given us all a fantastic option for adding color to our mono customers.
They could easily add it now to the existing mono machines that have color CCD's if they wanted to - it's just a matter of injecting some prescribe commands at the beginning of the job.

This would certainly enable us all to sell a bunch of color printers....

Relax? When?!
