When installing the drivers from CD whether Express or Custom the installer error out with 'One or more software installations have failed. See the details below' And there are no details. Choosing the KPDL or the KX driver makes no difference. It only shows a red X on the driver, fonts and Twain driver. We downloaded the drivers from Kyocera and installed basic print successfully but the CD doesn't work both current and 1.2 versions.

Have you tried adding the printer wizard and browse to that CD or have you right clicked on the application and chose run as administrator?

Machine in an ATCO unit so internet is not reliable, able to get on to Kyocera again and get the KX driver and it installed. I had the 1.2 and 2.0 Doc Library that came with the machines and neither one would work. One of the customers IT folks thinks it might be a java issue. This one is done, but I will be installing a couple of these in remote areas soon and I am not sure of internet connection, would be nice to know what was causing the failure. I hooked a laptop to the machine with crossover cable and it installed fine, customer computer with crossover and no good...could see nothing obvious for it not to install. Command Center connected and worked.

I'm agreeing with Techboy. I've had to go through the "Add A Printer" on some PCs and point it to the CD to get the .inf file and it will install fine.

Is this on Windows 7 64-bit? I think some versions of the driver installer didn't like that, even though Add Printer worked fine.

Also, I'm pretty sure there's no Java in the Kyocera installers or utilities except Hypas.

Win XP 32 bit, this is for an oil services company and they have their own "special" image for all their computers with pretty much everything blocked. The sys admin was with me and was logged on and it failed even with all his permissions enabled. Did not try the "add a printer" as I had never seen one of these fail, sort of had me baffled. I have been impressed with the ease of setup on these things so far.

We have had to use the add printer and point to the info file also on some machines. 64 bit does not work with the cd also, I know that isn't your issue but it is good to know.
