It's a valid concern. Do keep in mind that the MFP is powered by Linux at it's core, not Windows. I'm posting from a Linux PC right now without any antivirus software. The overwhelming majority of computer virii out there are designed to exploit Windows, not so many that can infect other operating systems.

Perhaps some future day Kyocera will introduce an anti-virus as part of a firmware update. For now all we can do is back-up the hard disk data with sim 917, reformat the hard disk, and restore saved data.

Hopefully the linux distribution Kyocera is using is not an 'Off the Shelf' version - making it an even harder target.

Generally speaking, linux requires programs to be compiled for the specific distribution.

Relax? When?!
