Trying to run Kyocera Mita FS-1000+ on new KX driver

Have a customer trying to run this printer direct from computer on parallel cable. It had been working well on the network before it was moved to a room without a network connection. She downloaded the KX driver from KMA and couldnt get it to work. I tried the KX driver on another 1000+ in the shop and that one won't work either. Works fine on the older KMPS driver from the original disk that came with it. I checked the KMA tech site for firmware upgrades that might help but no luck. I used the deleter on the disk to get a clean slate before installing the KX driver. Appreciate any input. Thanks

I did a quick check of the KX driver install, and noticed something. If you choose from the Kyocera models, there is a FS-1000, and if you choose from the Kyocera Mita menu, there is a F-1000 model.

Is it possible that the wrong model was picked in setup?

You did nothing wrong---it will not work with the new drivers. The 3.02 driver is the last one that works---I know--have one on my desk at home. If you have the KDPL chip in iut----$100---it will work with the new drivers. FYI, it will only work as parallel on a Unix/Linux system

I'm not an IT guy but can usually set up printers no problem. Found out that you have to use the drive deleter in the utility portion of pretty much any of the KM driver disks. Delete all of the orphan files then load the KX driver and it works just fine. Did it with my FS-1000+ at home just to check it out 'cause I couldn't get it to run on the KX driver either. Go figure. Yes

hey, they just posted a new driver tonite, nersion 3.0.1026. It allows install without upgrading od ones. Deleter unzips as part of compressed download. Afer unzip, look in c:\programfiles\KYOCERA\...., the setup is also there for the driver. Crate a shortcut on the desktop for both and upgrding and new install issues may be a thing of the pastSmile
