How do you import or get a csv file into a Taskalfa 500ci series machine address book? No import from web interface, no import in net viewer and the setup tool doesn't understand the file.

I am not using KM Net for accounting and just trying to import a email/fax list from a Toshiba machine, which we have converted to a csv file, and import it to the Taskalfa 500ci. No account codes only email destinations and fax numbers. Playing around I found the answer, use KN-NET Viewer 4.7, this understands the Tasklafa series and can import the csv directly into the address book and you can change the fields on the fly.
Cheers.

Unfortunately I don't believe you will be able to import this info this way. If you load some of the data then use the maintenance mode 917 so save it onto a USB stick, it is in some sort of format that is only recognized by the copier. Since these copiers are programmed in a linux base program I think you will have very little luck bringing this sort of information from another brand of copier.

Every time they release a new machine the file extension of the export files change. Wouldn't it be nice if it could be universal? No such luck.
I've even tried renaming the files to the new file extension, but they can't be read. Ever since the Falcon III the contents are encrypted, thusly unreadable.

Latest version of KMnet Viewer will let you import/export the address book between models. You can also save it as CSV, so in theory, if you manually enter 1 address then export to CSV and open in Excel to get the correct format, you should be able to add the Tosh info and then import again.

I should have left it alone!

It is possible to import your old address book from csv, abf, xml, aed and fed format in Km-Net-Viewer 5.1.1103, but feature is on very unusual place.

You must open Km-Net-Viewer in "General View", highlight device, open top "Device menu" -> Advanced -> Set multiple Devices -> Device Address Book -> Create from File

:-)

It is on very strange place, but it works!

Hi You Need km-net for accounting
Account import doesn’t work on Vista or Windows 7.
It works fine on windows XP using the latest version from our website (ver.2.3.2215)

Format is:

1st column: IP address of device
2nd column: Account code
3rd column: Account name
Save as csv file.
Then File --- Import ---Accounts

Sorry guys, not been around for a while. KMnet Viewer 5.0.2005, which I downloaded from the KMA website, had this feature, but it's now gone! I stupidly didn't keep a copy, so the only work around I can find is to use KMnet Viewer V4 to uploaded CSV to Falcon3 machine and then use V5.1.xxx to transfer between machines to the Taskalfa 500

I should have left it alone!

I have a Question about this, I'm trying to import an Address book from outlook into the machine Via KM Net Viewer, I tried doing it through km net for accounting and it did not work. I followed the directions that Marko L posted and it gave me an error trying to import the .csv file, is there any specific format I need to have the file in? it is only names and Fax Numbers nothing else. thank you in advance

John Holmes:
I didn't try to export outlook addresses to a csv file, but i have made proper csv file with Km-Net-Viewer.
It must be in the specific format, each address in one row, separated with comas:

Name,Recipient,Company,Department,E-Mail,FTPHost Name,FTPPath,FTPLogin user name,FTPPassword,SMBHost Name,SMBPath,SMBLogin user name,SMBPassword,FAX No.,Sub Address,Password

It is an example file on the site below:
ftp://ftp.xenon-forte.si/KyoceraMita/km-3050.csv

Km-Net-for-Accounting is only for Accounting purposes. You could edit/copy/delete accounts on local network multifunctional machines, set privileges for each account and view total counters on machines
But you could not edit or copy addresses in address book.

I borrowed this from another website:

"For exporting, one quick-and-dirty workaround is to view the Outlook folder in a table view, then select all items, copy them, and paste into an Excel worksheet. "

I believe you can customize the table view in outlook to put the tables in the right order to begin with, but you'll still need to add some empty columns for the things it doesn't have.

Relax? When?!

You borrow somebody's laptop computer with Windows.

It cannot be done with Mac OS either.

I've made a perl script to pull from a csv and export to the proper xml format that KMNet Viewer will then pick up and import. Done it several times now. email me if you want to play with the script i've made. One script will pull from an aed file and other i've made I tweak on the fly to match what ever text format i'm reading from.
