We have an existing customer that has recently upgraded to a KM-3050 & a KM-5050 and would like to be able to scan to pc (i.e., the pc is the server which is running Server 2000 & Terminal Services). Previously, with the KM-3035 they were twain scanning. We discovered quickly after loading the new twain drivers that it brings the server to it's knees and eventually crashes it. Nice, huh!?
So my issue is the scan to pc...I have tried scanning to a root drive "scans" folder and con not get it to go thru. I spent about 2 hours tinkering with the path and login to no avail. Finally I called 1800 Get Mita and they laughed telling me they offer absolutely no support when scanning with terminal services running. They wished me good luck and that was it. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

Catch me if you can! |
Can an FTP host be set up on that server? Worth a shot.
Cerebus FTP server is a good third-party way to set one up. Much easier to configure than the built-in Windows FTP, and is a small program. I'm using it on our showroom demo PC. http://www.cerberusftp.com/download.htm ================================================== Chris L's Hiking/Geocaching blog (new and improved!) yoyoartist.blogspot.com |

I'm not sure why this wouldn't work - especially on 2000. Terminal Services runs on EVERYTHING now - even XP pro. It is integral windows service. Have you tried using the older method using the modified Scan to File Utility (using the 'Application' button)? Relax? When?! |

We have a 3050 and a 5050 going to our 2003 server using SMB.
There has to be something not configured correctly. It is either the authentication or the path. Here is the key to terminal services though, find out even with twain scanning how the shared the file after is was scanned. If they have a local folder that has access to the server through a VPN just point to that folder. They had to get it from point a to b somehow. If there is no folder or VPN you can look into online file storage and send it into a web folder. The other way is to point an email server. |
