Switched i.p. address with pc name. Checked user name and password. Turned off all firewalls. User is admin. with full rights. Tried port 139 and 440.Made sure port were not blocked. Pc is not part of a domain. Mita did a remote access and could not find any setting wrong. Yes I can print and ping to copier. Any ideas or thoughts. Thanks George |

Try deleting the DNS server entry from the TCP/IP General section of the Command Center. This has helped me get past 2101 codes before.

Have the same problem with a 1820. Been running fine on a network for 2-3 years. Was working yesterday, they came in today and all pc's won't scan, 2101 code. Tried everything you did and more. Can get it to scan isolated on my laptop.

I used the ip from their old copier (3035).I entered it man. then shut it down .
Today I connected my laptop with a cross over cable and I was able to scan...Soo I know its not the copier.I didn't have time to plug my laptop to their network, thats my next move. Thanks for everyone's help! George |

Try this... Uplug the network switch or router and then plug it back in. This has helped me before too. Since you know its not the machine, try the hardware on the network.

If you can scan to your laptop using their switch and IP scheme it's not the copier - it's what you're scanning to...
Security packages get updated and nobody will tell you (or notice for that matter). Also - you may notice a 3rd party firewall (like McAfee or Norton ) and overlook Windows Firewall which may be enabled too. With SMB always be sure and check your connectivity between your laptop and their file share. Relax? When?! |

Although you're not on a domain, this could still be the format of the user name - it may need to be hostname\user. I'm not running XP any more, but from memory, if you right click my computer, go to 'advanced' and then 'user profiles' you'll see a list of the registered users in the prefered format. You may see something like XRLPCCP\User or user@XRLPCCP this is the format you'll then need to use for the user. Otherwise, I'm guessing you're looking for something like Norton blocking it.
I should have left it alone! |
