Hey guys. I've got one that is confusing me. This customer has a 5530 all firmware updated on copier, printer, nic card, 128mb of memory on printer board, tcp/ip only protocol enabled, and network speed set to 10 instead of auto. Printer will for no apparent reason stop printing. If you walk up to the copier you can copy and scan. No error messages on copier. When printing from windows you will get a time out error. When printing from AS-400 screen reads writing but nothing prints. Cycle power off then on and print jobs start printing. Hotline is suggesting to replace main board. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Gary

try using print disk manager and see if the hard drive is full. a quicker way is to remove the hard drive and see if it works..assuming it has one.

What happened when you hooked up your laptop crossover and printed?

I would suggest you remove additional memory while you are troubleshooting. I have had bad memory cause strange problems without any type of error message. Relax? When?!

Thanks for the input. This machine has no hard drive on printer board. I have replaced printer board and added additional 128 mb of memory (256 on printer board). I have not tried to print via crossover cable because only saw locked up once when at site. Waiting on main board to revisit issue.I was curious if anyone knows of any AS-400 printing issues.
