Anyone ever used a 128M Sandisk for firmware? I bought one today in an emergency trying to flash a KM4850 Wide Format, it did not work, neither did a CanRam 32M, my Lexar 32M gave marginal success. Tried about 20 times all together, redownloaded the files from KMAconnect several times, kept getting com6, com7 etc. errors. I have flashed many machines with my laptop setup but I am not ruling anything out.

The larger size CF cards seem to cause problems in some situations. I have a 64MB Memorex CF in shop that I discovered the hard way won't work at all in a fax system CF jig.

I think the problem could be with formatting. If you format with Windows 2000 or XP, you might notice that the default format is FAT32. If you format a 16MB or smaller CF, the default is FAT. NTFS also shows as an option. Try reformatting and using FAT as the format type. I just suspect there could be an issue with FAT32, and maybe a separate issue with the large cluster sizes of a FAT partition on a large size CF.

Thats Correct. Officially you should only use SANDISK and to a maximum of 32Mb although I use SANDISK 64Mb without problems.

I have a 128mb I/O Data CF I use on the newer machines such as the 3035-5035-5530 without any problems. However, older machines like the FS-8000c will not accept CFs larger than 32mb.

I don't know the specific models and the maximum size they take, but if it's current today it should accept a 128mb.

I have since used the 128M with success, guess it was something else I was doing. Seems like some machines are very particualar about firmware updates. Thanks for all the input.
