Several issues are starting to show up on this model of Samsung.
#1 machine, prints very lite on the first page, page 2 and 3 are fine. Toner has been changed.
#2 machine, if you turn it off it won't come back on right away.
#3 machine, can not fax from the scanner only from the glass or it will go into an error.

We don't have any of these in the field, but it sounds to me that Samsung firmware is bugged as usual. I would expect a FW update soon.

#1-HV contacts are dirty on the right side under the black plastic cover. Contacts come up from the composite power supply and need to be cleaned and the springs stretched just a touch.
#2- Defective Power Supply...capacitors are not clearing properly. Be sure it's on a properly grounded circuit and that ground wires around the fuser are properly secured...if none of that pans out replace the power supply.
3#- Scanner rail needs to be cleaned and lubed. The grease they used in the Chinese factories seems to be hardening and getting tacky with age. Clean it all off and use an appropriate grease.


Also very common to have toner cartridges failing prematurely which usually leads to a page count in the millions...this issue has been fixed by a firmware update from Sept. '08 or later.

Decent machine as a midvolume fax with MFP features but really very functional as a true MFP. Have a great weekend -Cope
