We have only a few of these models left due to the fact the copy quality seems go light after about 30K on these models. In the past the 5315's and 5312's also seemed to run light. Is there a less expensive method to improve the CQ darkness than to replace the whole scanner? We have adjusted exposure through the panel to allow the default to run as darkest setting but does not improve darkness enough. We use all OEM new supplies without any help. Print CQ is fine it is only in the copy mode. Any help would be appreciated

Clean the mirrors and the underside of the platen glass. There is a strange haze that leaches out of the plastic and makes copies light. You may not be able to see it unless you shine a flashlight on it but it lightens CQ just the same. Dry cloth won't do much but plain water seems to do just fine. Good luck -Cope

Cope: We have the same problem as Scanman, and all glass, mirrors, etc have been clean. Copy looks good one step darker, but there is no way to lock in the darker setting, machine always resets back to center. This is my issue with Samsung, some products are good, other issues like this one, they walk away from it. It's not their problem.

Just wondering have you've done the Scanner Shading Test? After you have cleaned the optics, then place several sheets of white paper on the glass and run this in Tech Rep Mode. It is #2 (Machine Test)-#6 (Shading Test). It has brought back a couple for me, some others no luck.

Jeff,

I was trying to be proactive with a client who expressed their issue with the light copying but didn't have time for me to do any further testing. Can you tell me how to get into tech mode on the 6322?
Thanks
