I always replace the bushings, bearings and felt roller (under press roller) when the web starts getting alot of buildup. Some techs swear that changing the web takeup speed helps but that makes the web run out before the PM cycle is up. Bearings and bushings are not included in the PM kit but I believe they should be included.

I ran into some random J60 / 62's, found that the paper was kinda ramping up the ESW and hitting the middle of the shift guide leading down to the duplex. Seems that the ESW is not getting its full swing down because the cover doesnt have enough clearance for the back of the switch. Just something I wanted to put out there and let people know

I've been doing this on CS-8030s for a long time. The rubbing sound is caused by the heavy toner buildup on the web becoming sticky and creating friction with the heat roller. If the U194 settings are the same as the 8030, 90 count uses one web per maintenance cycle. Most of my machines are at 66 or less. One in particular is at a title company (98% legal prints) which seems to be running well at 45 (two webs per maintenance cycle.

HAD 2-620'S AND 1-820 IN ONE LOCATION STARTED SAME THING. CHANGED 194 TO 45 AND 2, TURNED TEMP DOWN 5 DEGREES. DID THIS IN APRIL ON ONE 620. HAS 100K COPIES SINCE WITH NO SMUDGES OR BUILDUP. DID THE OTHER 2 IN MAY AND NO PROBS.

We have a 6030 making this noise when the felt get's a toner build-up, as well. We have replaced the entire fuser and the drive assembly, to no avail. We heve ended up cranking the web up to 1 click every 20 or so copies and reducing the PM count to 250K. This noise is very loud and we went out and found the same thing that denden said, which is that if you crank the web by hand, the noise immediately goes away. Next time we are out that way, we will try the temperature adjustment.

We have 2 620s at a title company, one has ~20k and the other just hit 100k. The 100k machine fixing unit is making noise, turn the web and the noise is gone for a while. Glad I found this post, its been driving me fricken nuts. We replaced the web and dropped it sim 194 to 60 and 2 which I guess isn't far enough. I'll go back out on Monday and change it to 45 and 2 and lower temp 5.

Well turned sim 194 to 45 and 2 and lowered temp 5 degrees. They called an hour later and said the noise is back. Ordered a new fixing assy and we will see what happens.
