I have an account with 8 of these machines less than 1 month old. It started with one machine and now has spread to the others. The registration form cassette 1 is all over the place no matter what I do to it. MP tray and additional cassette 2 have no issues. The paper is delaying and cutting off the leade edge. If you make 10 copies, you get 10 different starting positions. Some time to the point it keeps jamming. Already replaced the feed assembly, reg roller springs, drive assembly. retard roller, adjusted cassette plate lift springs. I'm at my wits end. Any ideas? Am I missing something. KMA dosen't have a clue yet. I have my tech rep working on it.

Hi,
This machine is same as fs-1300 printer – Your tech probably removed clear plastic mylars just b4 reg roller > Customer probably had a paper jam and pulled paper back – that cause the mylar to bent – tech just removed them and hence registration is out. Mylars are only available as a rego kit, I’ve made my own using double sided sticking tape and clear binding cover – Vladimir |

Thanks for the input. When I say less than 1 month I mean 2-3 weeks. I'm the only tech that has been there and have not removed any mylars. Mylars look to be in good condition and now the problem has spread to all 8 machines. Yes, I have already addressed paper and provided the customer with 10 cases of good paper. Cassette 2 and MP tray feeds and registration are dead on..... The worst one is 61 pages between jams.

Can I make a suggestions – check or replace following pars – they should not be very expensive SPRING RETARD- 302HS09180 and RETARD ROLL ASSY - •5AAVR0LL+052.
I had a printer once that was jamming, was all over the place never at same spot – and at the end was missing the RETARD spring. |

Gazoo. Did you ever come up with a solution for this. I now have one doing the EXACT same thing and is about the same age.
Thanks Joe |

As vladimir said it is the retard roller and spring. When I tried a diff cassette the problem was the same. I tried removing the spring just to see what would happen and had j-20's consistantly. I then strecthed the spring to give the retard roller more pressure and the varying registration is now gone and no jams.

Sorry didn't get back on this. Springs are more of the answer than rollers. If the roller is worn replace it. It was happening on newer machines for us. Less than 10K, less than 1 month old.
