Techos I have this KM 4035 that was makeing much noise and racket, then it(machine) would jam. I found a broken gear in the vertial drive section. Now there is more noise, but less, no jamming. What?
What's the meter on this machine. I just had a 5035 making alot of gear meshing noise in the left side towards the rear near where the left door hinge is. It ended up being the swing plate assembly on the door that receives it's drive from the main body. This copier had over 1,000,000 clicks on it. Over that time frame things are going to start to wear out that you never thought would wear out. Where the metal frame of the swing plate makes contact with a plastic frame cover piece that acts as a stop, it had worn a grove into it, which allowed the swing plate to move closer in towards the gear it was receiving drive from. Well if gears mesh together too closely, they will make some strange noises. I had to come up with a field mod to fill in the grove area to quiet the copier back down. I would look all through the bushings in the left side door if that is where the noise is coming from.
