Copies have a darker band, like the print is bold, about 3/4 of the way down the page. It's about 1" wide across the page (front to back of machine)on 11x8 1/2 paper, and at the trail edge of letter-r, 8 1/2 x 14 and 11 x 17. It happens in the same area on every copy, even on internal prints, on the glass or through the feeder, I'm thinking it has something to do with the fixing unit and will be going back in the morning to try one, but if anyone has any other idea's I would appreciate hearing them. There is no blur or jitter in the print, just the text is bold, if you run a "skyshot" the band is dark and shiny like you stopped it in the fuser for a nip adjustment. 400K since the last PM. Thanks.

The transfere inlet guide may be broken. The spacer tabs that set the spacing to the drum. They get broken when the customer pulls open the tray with out lowering the handle.
Has the fuser drive gear been modified on that copier. I had a similar problem and ended up having to do the update that changes out the one fuser gear with the new style one that has a metal bearing mounted in it, also the final drive gear that meshes with the fuser itself had a tooth or two missing in one area, not enough to cause any jamming, but the fuser would slow down just a little bit and cause some distortion near the trailing edge of the page from front to rear, it even caused a slight buckle in the paper. I think the TB that covers the mod for the gear update may have a listing of Serial #s you can check for a cut in to see if your machine was built before the update or not. The machine I had to do this on had close to 1.4 million copies on it at the time.
Thanks for all the advice, turned out to be the transfer unit, not sure what exactly was wrong with it but the advice here is the best there is, thanks again.
