It is not the registration verying rather it is from side to side. The other weird thing is when I run a two page document it sometimes ghost the image of the same page that is being copied rather than having the previous page appearing on the ghost.
Wierd stuff. After covering the most obvious things, wierdness is usually caused by one of the following , high voltage arcing, loss of ground, dirty power. Since a digital rewrites the image for each copy from the same memory there might be the possibility of the drum having end play and shifting?

The problem with the double imaging and the side to side was the sensor plate for skewing before the registration assembly. I think it became flakey and caused the laser to start spraying the image all over the page and caused the side to side to move up and down the page. Once this board was replaced everything was fine.
