Can the data security kit be turned off on a F-3 machine? I have a machine that is locked up and won't let you do a thing. It is overwriting hdd after you turn it on and won't let you do anything. The machine then will give random errors like CFA10 turns off then back on and then will throw a CFB1A. I want to be able to turn off DATA kit to try and format the HDD instead of overwriting it. I can not get into maint mode......

Have you tried to turn it on with the door open and go immediately into maintenance mode with the door open?

Proximity to stupidity is exhausting!

Yea, tried that. I swapped the e-eprom and pulled the cable off the HDD. That let me update the firmware. Changing the e-eprom eliminated the data sec kit. As soon as I plug in the HDD it eventually errors out. I guess I need the HDD. Will post results.

HDD took care of the problem. I updated firmware with other E-Eprom in it and switched that out after firmware updated. As soon as I turned it on, it initialized and formatted the HDD for the data sec kit. All is well.
