Hello...I got a weird call today from a new customer. They have a kyocera 6030 & they want a price on a new touch screen, can anyone help me out with a part#, a contact for the part # and also what the procedure is for replacement. Is this something I want to get in to or should I pass? I have never seen this model or ever worked on one. I have done touch screen replacements on Ricoh 3025 but that is as far as I have done. Whats your recommendation? ThanksThis message has been edited. Last edited by: copykat93,

If you've never replaced one on the KM-6030 before, it's a pain in the arse. There is no written procedure to do this. The only procedure is to remove the op panel from the machine. You just know from experience how to actually replace the tablet. #302FB25191
Another tech sight says its not too bad to do, here is what he forwarded to me>>>
not too hard to change,...the little paper holder to the left of the display comes out theres a screw underneath it comes out the cover just left of the scan glass comes off the three connectors one ground wire screw and the little cover to the right comes off (the one that covers the display adj lever) then that asy comes out three screws and best i remember thats it.
Does this sound correct?

Until just recently the touch screens were on backorder. A lot failing recently.
You do have to just remove the covers on both sides of the op panel and partly disassemble the pivoting works on one side so you can remove the entire panel. Be careful removing the connectors, they can be damaged without much effort.

Agree with Chris, no procedure in the manual, not bad to do.
Find it kind of Odd the manuals show you how to do everything you should know how to do and they show you everything that you will not need to do. The things that it would be nice to have a procedure on you have to learn the hard way.
Thanks guys.....Customer just called me with the part#>>302fb93183 now they want the whole op panel. Is this worse to do or easier? Just checkin, I think with the info I'm getting, I may want to stay away from this one. This lady is giving me the vibe that she doesn't trust anyone.

Did she ever tell you why she thinks she needs a new touchscreen? You might get there and the problem could have nothing to do with the touchscreen. I only mention this because you said you were getting weird vibes from her.
But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard... to be the Shepherd.

I asked her when I first spoke with her, why do you need a new touch screen, she said that another local copier repair co has been servicing it & that she wasnt happy with their work. Thats when I asked again, why a touch screen, she said the tech was in and diagnosed it as that. trouble navigating
