With the amount of main board failures and the outrageous cost of new boards ($2233.16 for the main pcb) I can't believe there's not a company that can repair them yet. Even KM! Am I missing something? Does anyone know who can repairs these?

I've received (today) repaired Main and Engine pcbs from Kyocera's board repair. Roughly 1/2 the cost.

Half price is about $1000 which is still too high. They flat rate it and part costs can't be more than $500. So $500 for labor? Gimme a break...

'Gimme a break'

That's what your non-contract customer says when you charge them $125/hr (or whatever) for labor.

Sheesh...whine on. If you can't take the heat in this business, go arrange flowers for a living.

I agree Duke. One bad board can make even a multi machine service contract un profitable.

If your dealership is not making a profit on these machines, you are absolutely, positively doing something wrong. If your sales' people insist on installing these machines in an environment with an inhospitable power situation, and you're blowing boards, blame them. If they're signing 6 year leases to copy shops that beat the crap out of the machines, blame them. A 4530 wholesales for $7100 and MSRP is $13,500. Then, add in a service and supply contract. $1000 for a repaired board is nothing if it happens once in it's lifetime. What do you think makes theses things run? Is it realistic to expect anything more than a 1 year warranty on these things?

Seriously, open up a Subway franchise or something if you can't hack it. Whining is just plain pitiful from people that pay technicians $10/hr.

Bazooka Joe! Learn to chill, please. Maybe head upstate over the weekend and relearn how to relax. Some of your helpful posts on this site since you came on board a couple months ago simply wreak of a man that's about to go off the deep end.

"So, take your bitter sobbing to your local grocery store, and buy some Kleenex to wipe your sad sack tears away."
****
"And besides, when I receive envelopes in the mail, I could really care less if it's wrinkled. It's the package, not the contents. If the recipient complains, blame the Post Office. Or Bill Clinton."
****
"Now there's something that should be shot. Throw that thing away and sell some new product."
****
"Sheesh...whine on. If you can't take the heat in this business, go arrange flowers for a living."

I look forward to your next insightful post.

Go off the deep end? Not a chance. I simply can't stand whiny little bitches. Life's not fair, the world's not fair. Freeking deal with it. Off the top of my head, I can easily list about a dozen products and/or services that we are overcharged for on a daily basis, and yet we don't often have a choice in the matter. We have to pay the price for them, end of story. Crying about them on a techie forum is ludicrous.

And if my bluntness is offensive, tough ****. There's not a thing to be gained by pulling punches when they need to be thrown full on.

So, I'm outie, I've not once found anything of any help to me on this board, but gotten a lot of laughs from some of you clowns. Top notch, some of you.(that's sarcasm)

Insighful enough for you Foos?
