my company is starting to get some of these boxes off lease. just wondering about the differences in the maintenance kits offered. and, would like a heads up on what parts i should start stocking. especially any high mortality parts. any feedback would be appreciated. tia rb
appreciate the feedback and i will have to get some these in stock. still wondering about the different maintenance kits. it seems that they got by quite well with the one for the 50/40/3035 series. rb

Go to Tech Bulletin 1 for the 6030/8030 for the explanation of how the PM kits work. It's not that difficult. In one kit comes the entire DV unit, waste tank, cleaning unit etc. This is a fully disposable kit. In another kit comes the fuser, transfer belt assembly, feed roller assemblies. This is a reusable kit, save all the old stuff you take off of the copier. The third kit is all the parts required to rebuild the sections of the 2nd kit when you get back to the shop. Or else just skip the 2nd kit and do all the work in the field and with the 3rd kit, if you want to spend 2+ hours doing the PM.

I wouldn't rebuild units onsite. It takes 2 hours just to bebuild the MK-650A Assembly Kit using the PM-650B rebuild kit. You may need additional stuff also, like transfer rollers & bearings, fuser cleaning roller bushings, etc.
I suggest that you stock (1) each of the MK-650A, MK-650B, and PM-650B kits. Use the MK-650A and MK-650B on the PM, and rebuild the assemblies and return it to stock as MK-650A-REF (refurbished). The PM will still take you 2 hours if you do a decent job of cleaning & upgrading firmware, and don't just slap in units. =^..^=
