I have a strange jam that only happens on the second side of a duplex copy when the finisher is selected. It indicates a J40 fuser jam. The page that is at the drum is curled back onto itself and the second side is not fused. Single sided works fine, and duplex going into the innertray works. My first thought would be a solenoid or a gate but the page does not pass through the fuser on the second side.

Any Ideas???

When you pull out the jam is there a kink on the leading edge that looks like its getting caught in something like a crack in something ?
And where is it actually getting stuck at ?
Like right before it goes into the fuser ?

The paper has no noticable nicks, The paper is folded back onto itself but not creased and the unfused side is the inside. And one edge is right at the edge of the tranfer roller the other edge is very close to that.

Are the second side transfer/seperation voltages set properly? If you flip the paper over in the cassette does the problem go away?

Yes, everything is set correctly, and flipping paper didn't make any change. My tech just came back from the customer, he replaced the transfer roller assy. The problem is gone. I was just inspecting the old one and don't see anything that would cause this. Not that it matters much now... But any ideas.

Replace the one way in the turn around section.
