I have an FS-9530 that trays 1-2 will not lift at all, nor does the machine see the the trays in the machine it always says load Cassette 1 or 2 which ever I set as the default. When you pull either tray out you can see the lift motors turning and every now and then you will get a C1010 error. I have updated firmware, replaced the Engine Brd., Lift motors, all sensors in or around the trays, checked the door switches, checked the voltages coming off the power supply to make sure the motors were getting the correct voltage and they are. I'm at a loss here don't know where else to turn with this machine or what else to throw at it, i'm taking the customer a loaner on Friday and bringing theirs into the shop to see if maybe I can track down a bad/pinched wire. Also tried changing the trays themselves. This machine is going to make me into an alcoholic yet, any help is appriciated.

Hey Hillybilly, you may have already checked this but I had a machine do something like this once. It turned out to be some small pieces of paper stuck inside the cassette connectors. They can be in the cassette side or the machine side. It is pretty simple to check. Good luck.

I removed both connectors today on the tray side and machine side , nothing in them, pins appear to be fine. Does the 5035 by chance use the same wiring harness as the 9530 as far as going from the engine brd. to the connectors in the machine for the paper trays??

There is a loop inside the cassette plug. If there is paper in the plug or the conductors don't make good contact this loop will now allow the 24V to pass, disabling the lift. It's a screwy setup but the plugs are the answer. ======================= I have an attention span longer than =======================

I have seen this error when the drawer connector on the machine frame is cracked. A very hard to see hair line crack. I only saw it after putting the connector under a nagnifying glass back at the shop.

Ok, I tried swapping out the wiring harness from the engine brd. to the tray switches,motors,ect.. Also tried changning out the tray connectors in the back of the machine with some from a working machine, still a no go. I have a power supply on order right now to see if by some chance this is a voltage issue, even though i've checked the voltages and all seems fine, will have to wait and see when the power supply gets here, and that could be a while the way things have been going with getting parts.

I was able to get partial operation by replacing the engine PCB. I had problems with both lift motors now the issue is with Tray #1 only. The machine is telling me to remove paper from the insert section of drawer 1, there is nothing there. Whatever the machine is seeing is stopping it from lifting the paper to the rollers. ======================= I have an attention span longer than =======================

Ok, this machine is really eating my lunch, I tried the power supply Tuesday, and the problem still stays. I have another engine brd. on order right now, I tried the other engine brd. when the lift motors were bad, not knowing of course, but hey thats the way my luck goes.

Finally got this machine fixed, I put a new Engine brd. in today, updated the firmware to the latest and everything works fine now, trays lift with no problem. Both lift motors had went bad as well as the engine brd., not sure how, but don't really care as long as it works.
