When you copy from the memory everything is fine and the copy looks good, but when you copy off the glass or through the Document Feeder the copy comes out very light. We have tried many different adjustments and are unsure where to go from here any help would be greatly appreciated. We have also updated firmware. And cleaned the optics over and over.

Thanks

We also had a similar problem on a KM-3040. The problem at the end of the day was the PWB inside the optics section that we replaced. Memory prints fine but anything scanned was light prints. Hope this helps. if you have a spare machine try swapping it out to test first.

Scott, did you try to scan something to a computer? It might help to narrow down the search. Make sure eco mode is not turned on. I had one come in of lease that this was turned on. It drove us nuts for a day.

You might want to clean the optics with water. Ozone can coat the mirrors and is not alcohol soluble.

If at first you don't succeed, redefine success.

i know its been said and solved but you can look down the optics mirrors and see if the ozone has coated the optics, the mirrors will just look cloudy and you can see all the mirrors at once, easy way to know for sure if the optics are part of the problem
