I have a fairly new machine that will not feed #10 envelopes thru mp tray. The envelope will feed 3/4s of the way out of exit assembly, then stop. Jam code 21 is what gets triggered. If you feed regular paper cut to the size of the envelope, it feeds thru fine. It must have something to do with weight of envelope and i have tried various mp tray settings, played with timing sims, etc. but it will jam in the same place every time and give same j21 code???
I did replace the engine pcb, thinking it was machine 'brain' related but that didn't help. the mp tray works fine otherwise, different sizes etc., and the copier works fine otherwise too. Any ideas???
silly question, is the MP tray set up for #10 envelopes? when they print to it, what are the settings used? i've found them printing to envelopes and using plain. the machine was set up envelope and envelope for both size and media. might want to check those.
i tried setting mp tray to #10 envelopes, left it set to auto, etc. I have tested it just walking up and using it as a copier and selecting mp tray, etc. still jams. I tested the envelopes on another machine (km 4035) and they ran thru fine, even letting the mp tray to default settings, not envelope.
your bypass spring tension on you lower pulley is not the same..the kick back roller is dragging that envelop for to long & the timing goes off resulting on j21...change the spring & kick back roller...it was my solution to my envelop problem...
DUMMIETEK...back by popular demand...where is jorge????
I changed the spring/roller like dummietek said and it worked for 10 envelopes then jammed(j21) again! I installed a different spring (black sep claw spring used on the old km4230 models) on the sep roller and it worked fine after that. I was worried about double sheet feeding, but it seemed to work fine on regular paper, card stock, etc. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it keeps working..........
