Our TASKalfa is not sending faxes, but does receive them. The confirmation sheet comes back as busy. This is an on and off problem. I hooked up another fax machine to the line the last time it happened and it went through fine. Does anybody know what could be causing this problem?
You need a firmware update, if you are a dealer you can download it from KMA, if you are an enduser you need to call your copier service representative.
Beware of what you are becoming while on the road to what you want.

Check if sending locally or long distance and the quality of the phone lines. We have to set the start speed at 14.4 and in some cases to 9600 for the machines to connect. Receive is always good and sending was sporadic at best, some machines cannot handshake at the higher speeds.
You may want to turn ECM off also, on both send and receive. To bad we have to make our fax systems as "DUMB" as the ones you can by off the shelf at Staples or Office Depot.
I had one of these that drove me nuts, the customer was using a cheap fax switching device in his office, when I plugged the chord into his phone it would work fine, I plugged the chord into a samsung fax it worked fine. When I plugged the same chord into the Kyocera it would recieve but never send. It was determined that he was not using the phone chord that came with the Kyocera Copier rather he had switched to one using 4 pairs rather than the two pair chord that kyocera provides. Also change your db to 9. Turn off busy tone detect, put a DSL filter on it and change your modem speed to 9.6. If you are still having problems there is one more setting you can change. For problems like these I like bringing a cheap fax with me to make sure that works first.
