running into this problem on new out of the box ta820s. best solution ive come across is to use the rubber feeds of the old 4530s and adjust the sep spring tension to max. dont understand why they say replace one spring, surely this will make the rollers wear uneven because one spring is stronger than the other.

I had problems with a new 820 jamming from the deck. I couldn't see any reason for the jams. The paper kept getting hung up on the last guide fins just before turning to go up the vertical drive section. I never really payed attention to the sticker on the front of the trays that show you fanning and bending the paper every which way to Sunday. I did that and the jams stopped happening. I have had this be the case at several locations. Had to show the customer the stickers and the importance of getting air between the papers as they are feeding at 80 copies per min. It sounds silly but I have seen it make a difference.

Gaffa is right on. We have been doing this since the 820's came out. We started doing this on 8030's with success. The only problem is KM said the 4530 sep rollers,33906060, were dicontinued (see my post about this); however, Km is now stocking those rolllers again. They are preety cheap so you might want to order up some. By the way, I ordered some tires from katun to replace the sep rollers and they don't work. I might have got 10,000 copies on the katun rollers before they were worn out. As far as the springs go, we usually leave those alone.
