Call your tech rep, there is an internal bulletin he should have, we had our rep fax us a copy of it. It has a part number for a grounding strap.

Quacky is right there is a QA report (or some kind of internal doc at KMA) about this. There is a grounding / anti static strip to ground the paper and a metal bushing instead of one of those plasticy (black) ones for the primary feed drive shaft. The idea as I see it is that the paper sliding over the plastic guides can generate a charge to the guides which will arc suddenly (possibly not to ground) causing the communication error. The anti static strip contacts the paper to give a proper path to ground, the same is for the metal (brassy) bushing. I've never try to impliment this, our problems here don't seem to be as bad as they were for a while. When I heard about this fix (a few months ago), I believe it was still experimental. Speak to your rep., maybe there is an update to this. Dave

Hi, new to your board. I saw this post and we had a lot of these codes also and on another site someone figured out a fix. It has worked for us on all of ours that had this code. Follow the cable into the feeder and find the ground wire, than you will need to pull back the plastic sheathing on the cable. You will find the ground wire is crimped to the grounding mesh inside the plastic sheathing. Crimp this metal connector tighter and see if that works for you. It has worked for us on all of them. Hope this helps.

99.9% the problem is the loom from document processor. we have had cracked wires. Hope you are not fitting those brackets on the back of the machines that are supposed to keep the cable off the wall etc. They make the cables crimp........
