Have semi new 1128 used exclusively as fax. Display says "Please Wait Initializing Fax" will not do anything else. Tried turning off/on, unplug/plug checked fax PCB install still same message. Can't find any reference to that message in the service book.

I can remember having a 6030 doing something similiar and it ended up being dirty dust filters and the office was at 106 degrees. Have you ripped the machine apart to check for a possible paper jam or have you tried a 906 on it? Have you checked the toner to make sure it is full?

That machine uses 1087 1087 for maint mode. Try to get in and run a maint mode 600, initalizing all data. You might have to have the image unit cover open for it to go into maint mode. I would try the 906 like Techboy said first though.
