Machine displays the number 5 no matter what number you press on the keypad. I removed the panel, took it apart and cleaned the display and button plastics thinking the five key was stuck, it was not. All the keypad switches check out electrically so it's not that either. I was able to get into simulation, and you can enter all the numbers in any order so the keypad is definitely working.
I reloaded the firmware (I had just updated to the latest FW 2 days before?) reformatted the HD, and did the panel adjustments, still displays the 5 no matter what button is pressed, but you can reset to 1 by hitting the clear button. Any ideas? Thanks |

That is what I would have done.
Just for kicks you might try downgrading the firmware to 2.40. You might get a different result. Other than that, you can start swapping out individual boards on the op panel to determine exactly which board is responsible for your issue. Hopefully you have a spare panel to swap against. Let us know how it shakes out. =^..^= =^..^= |

Old Firmware caused a "Program Loading" message, reloaded current level firmware and before swapping panel parts I did a backup memory in simulation and problem went away. Thanks for the help and suggestions, I'm not so sure I've seen the last of this problem.

Is this like the default is set to five copies?

Yes, it would sometimes go back to one but as soon as you tried to enter any number or combination of numbers it would go back to five.

I honestly don't remember, why is that one of the "old" DIMM's?

anytime you are in a falcon 3 control panel you have to barely snug down the screws that hold the board thats over the keypad.
The slightest bit of too tight will jam the keypad aganst the board. I have to replace keypads on an accounts machine every 3 months. And when I say barely sung, I mean like just about loose, to the point that you question if its tight enough. A hair bit more and the keypad will have too much pressure on it.
